The Moment that Counts

Work of Samual Castano

Check out the collage artwork of Samual Canstano. Isn’t it fun? I love his typographic style and how he puts images together.

Lately, I feel like there is never enough time. I am always running from one thing to another as fast as I can go.

I didn’t use to be like this.

Before I had a child, with awareness and intention, I tried not to over schedule myself. I was so good at returning phone calls and emails. I had down time. When I first started my graphic design business (before I built up a steady stream of clients) I had so much time that I had trouble filling it.

How differently I would use all those long hours now.

I’m not glorifying busy- we have a tendency to do that in our culture. I would just like to not feel pulled in so many directions. I would like more time to spend with my husband. My daughter. More time to work. More time for me.

Today, my to-do list is very long. I feel this mild sense of panic settling in as the hours whiz by.

So I am going to stop what I am doing. I am going to close my eyes and take several deep breaths. I am going to remind myself to slow down. There is plenty of time. It will all get done.

And I am going to remind myself to stay present. Because right now, this moment, is the one that counts.
